Wednesday Night 9/26/12

Come out and worship with us tonight at Calvary! The book of Job continues to be an amazing study of God's Sovereign plan in the life of men.  We can trust His Word and His promises no matter the circumstance or condition. "Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives,  and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed,  yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another..."        Job 19:23-27.  See you there!

Rejoice With Trembling

Psalm 2:11: "Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling."  We rejoice all the time.  We rejoice when our car gets fixed after being inoperable providing a means of transportation.  We rejoice when our favorite ball team wins the world series.  We rejoice over the birth of a baby boy or girl, or when we watch that baby boy or girl graduate and move on to marry the person they love.  The point is that life is filled with opportunity to rejoice.  Rejoicing with trembling is unique.  We rejoice in all these things without trembling, so what is the difference here? The difference is the object of our rejoicing.  Romans 8:37 is proof positive that we have victory in Christ and are more than conquerors in Christ because He has chosen to place His love upon us by His grace.  This reality of this phenomenal truth is the ultimate means to our joy being fulfilled, and we rejoice in the hope of this supernatural transaction of the gospel.  The reality of Christ and all that he is, and all that he has done, and all that he has yet to do, is a "trembling" reality!  Why a Holy God loves unholy people when we stop and consider just how holy He is, is a "trembling reality."  Psalm 119:120 says, "My flesh trembles for fear of You, I am afraid of Your judgments."  We ought to tremble at the very thought of God and all that we rightly deserve from His hand, that in any given moment he could destroy our soul for rebelling against His Word; BUT HE DIDN'T!  Instead He chose to love us and make a way for forgiveness, the redemption of sin, and we rejoice in that understanding.  Not flippantly but trembling at the love, mercy, withheld wrath, and grace of God displayed in the gospel! "Rejoice with trembling."

Wednesday Night 9/19/12

Wow... It has been a bit since I've done one of these.  It's pretty incredible how time gets away from you.  Our schedules become so jam packed that it is easy to forget the small things.  However, the small things can seemingly be some of the most meaningful parts of our schedule.  Though there is not much to this blog other than reminding you about our upcoming service and letting you know what songs we will be singing, it is something I have truly enjoyed doing and hopefully something you have benefited from.  I want to continue to share thoughts, ideals, and theology that the Lord continues to reveal to me regarding worship in hopes that it will bless and benefit you.  Hopefully we can all continue to learn something about worship, music, the arts, and where that all works into the scope of the local church.  Anyway, all that to say, Lord willing I'll be able to come back to this (though this hasn't been the first time I've been pulled away from it and I'm sure not the last) as often as I can!  With that said, come out tonight and worship with us during our mid-week service.  Pastor Jim has been taking us through the book of JOB!  It truly has been an incredibly encouraging and convicting study.  This study is giving us a fresh view into the person and work of God as played out in the life of Job and you don't want to miss it!  Come worship with us tonight at 7 PM, you'll be blessed and glad you did!  Click on the couple songs you may not be familiar with and come with a heart to sing to God:

1) Eternal Praise
2) Mighty To Save
3) Indescribable
4)Lead Me To The Cross
5)More Love To Thee
6)My Hope Is Built

Wednesday Night 3/21/12

God is Sovereign and sovereignly does what He has always intended to do because He is God! That principle can be applied to every area of life and is truly what we have been learning through our study in the book of Esther. Come out tonight at 7:00 pm and join us as we continue through the book of Esther and gather to worship Jesus.

1) My Hope Is Built
2) I Sought the Lord
3) Completely Done
4) All To Us
5) How Great Is Our God
6) Good To Me

Wednesday Night 3/14/12

Looking forward to worshipping tonight with all of you. Wednesday nights are such a sweet time of intimate worship and fellowship I know you'll be blessed to be a part of it, so come out tonight at 7:00 pm. Pastor Jim is back with us tonight continuing to show us the hand of God through the book of Esther and we'll be singing about our glorious redemption through Christ. I'm excited to do a new hymn tonight called "I sought the Lord." It may a bit obscure to you or unknown but nonetheless it speaks deeply about God's great love for us even before we existed! "He loved us first" is how some authors have summed up this old hymn and Lord willing that truth will be a refreshing blast of Sovereign Grace!

1) Beautiful One
2) All I Have Is Christ
3) Indescribable
4) I Sought the Lord (New)
5) 'Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus
6) Give Us Clean Hands

4) God of Wonders

Wednesday Night 2/15/12

Man, it has been a busy January and February. Winter Camp was in January and there was a lot of preparation and hard work going into that. However, the Lord was extremely good and convicted the hearts of our students and lead them into repentance. I've had the awesome opportunity to lead worship for the last couple of winter and summer camps we've done and it has been a total blessing. My heart is to see our youth come to a mature understanding of what worship is so that when they grow and become apart of the greater local church they aren't worship illiterate, not understanding who, how, and why we worship. A wrong understanding of worship is an epidemic in this country and not just for our youth but within the adults as well, one I myself have to fight within my own wicked heart. Hopefully sometime in the near future we'll dive deeper into what that looks like but for now, to God be the glory, he is continuing to take our youth and adults into a deeper worship, appreciation, and affection for the glories of Calvary! Anyway, COME OUT AND WORSHIP WITH US TONIGHT! There is no doubt you will be extremely blessed as Pastor Jim continues to take us through the book of Esther. We'll spend time singing to, praying to, and celebrating Christ so come and be a part of that with us!

4) I Lift My Eyes Up

Wednesday Night 1/11/12

I am really looking forward to a sweet night fellowshipping with the body! We have a special video to show that looks back over the last year and all that God has done and the fun we've had as a body of believers. And of course, Pastor Jim will be feeding us from God's Word as well as an amazing time of worshipping through music! So come out and be a part of this fellowship tonight, I know you'll be blessed! Check out the songs we'll be singing tonight. There is a new one called "Forever Reign" that is simple but has been a tremendous blessing and reminder of hope for me lately!

4) Forever Reign (New)

Communion Night this Wednesday

Hello all, I hope you had a nice Holiday season. The month of December had been very busy but well worth it! We had an amazing time at our Wednesday Night Christmas service and if you missed it, you really missed out. We had some incredible musicians with us that night and many thanks are due to Bev Burbank for stepping in on cello, Colton Youngs on electric guitar, and Josh Rowe on bass. They truly made it an amazing night! I can't believe it is already 2012, this past year has flown by and they seem to go faster and faster as the years go on. However, one thing is for sure, by God's grace we will continue to proclaim the gospel and truth of God's Word here at CCR! Speaking of which make sure you come out tonight to join us for Communion. Pastor Jim will be proclaiming God's word and we will sing songs that proclaim the EXCELLENCIES and GLORIES of CALVARY! So come as we sit at the Lord's table tonight, you will be blessed!

Communion Night this Wednesday

It's the first Wednesday of the month and we have communion tonight so come out and join us. We are so blessed to be able to sit at the Lord's table and remember the great cost of the cross and all the gospel entails for us. We were sinners unreconciled to God and enemies of Him, but in His great grace and mercy He lavished His love on us "in that while we were yet sinner Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8), rising again and reconciling a people to Himself! This is why we're going to gather tonight to remember and celebrate the gospel, so join us for this! As usual, Pastor Jim will be proclaiming the truth of God's Word tonight in Nehemiah and we will worship and sing to God because He is great and worthy to be praised! We'll see you tonight!

3) O Come, O Come Emmanuel
4) Child of God
6) How He Loves (Communion Song)

Sunday Morning 12/4/11

Man it is crazy to think that we are already in the month of December! This year has flown by but the Lord is faithful and continues to be faithful to this church. I'm looking forward to worshipping with you on Sunday as we continue our study through 1Peter. This study has been an immense blessing to this congregation as we've been reminded of God's faithful love for us that though we have been rejected or may be rejected, we have been chosen in Christ for His pleasure and are given grace through the gospel, a grace that causes us to live out our love for the Savior! There is no better reason to worship the Lord than that so come join us on Sunday to worship the Lord through prayer, the proclamation of God's Word, and singing!

1) O Come All Ye Faithful
2) Joy to the World

Wednesday Night 11/30/11

Hey guys, hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. Mine was extremely restful and I am so thankful for that time though I missed worshipping with the body of Christ last Wednesday! Anyway, I am looking forward to being back with all of you tonight for our Wednesday night service. Pastor Jim is getting closer to finishing our study through Nehemiah's look at revival and it has been a tremendous blessing. Hopefully it has left our hearts longing for revival because we certainly need it in our churches and in our own individual hearts! So come tonight and worship with us as we sing, pray, and make much of Christ through the teaching of His Word and worshipful celebration of the gospel! Here is our song set for tonight, learn them and come ready to sing out to our God!

Wednesday Night 11/16/11

Hey guys, really looking forward to worshipping with you tonight! Come and let's celebrate Christ together as Pastor Jim continues to preach to us, all that Nehemiah has to say about revival. We are longing that God would bring revival to our church and individual hearts! Certainly Christ is worthy of all praise and honor and that's what we are aiming to do in prayer, preaching, and as we sing these songs to lift up and exalt the name of Jesus Christ!

Sunday Morning 11/13/11

We're looking forward to this Sunday morning and all the Lord has in store! Pastor Jim will be back in the book of 1 Peter as we've been reminded of the glorious hope of the gospel we have in our lives and how that truth ought to be applied in our living! The gospel has real implications for those whom it's affected such as holiness, thanksgiving, and grace under suffering! Hopefully we'll be blessed, encouraged, instructed, and revived as we sing songs that proclaim the glorious hope of the gospel and SING OUT all that God has graciously done for the sinner's heart. So come and worship with us Sunday morning at 10:00 AM!

5) Grace Greater Than Our Sin
6) Good to Me

Wednesday Night 11/9/11

Hey guys, a couple of things. First of all if you missed First Sunday, you missed out! We had an awesome time together singing, praying, hearing the Word of God read, fellowshipping, and just worshipping in general. So if you missed First Sunday make sure to come tonight as Pastor Jim continues to take us back through a section of Nehemiah regarding REVIVAL! As we've said before revival is something we desperately need in our individual hearts, the local church, and the church at large. Tonight we'll be looking at Nehemiah 9 and the implications and affects of REAL REVIVAL. So come and be a part of our Wednesday Night gathering. It is a sweet time of worship and teaching and is refreshing to the soul in the middle of a crazy work week! We'll be singing songs that magnify Christ as our source of hope, strength, and everlasting love so learn the songs and come ready to worship our Lord!

Communion Night this Wednesday

Wow, the month of October flew by! I can't believe it's already the 1st Wednesday of November. That also means it's Communion Night! Come be apart of the body tonight as we come to the table in remembrance and celebration of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and our redemption because of that! Our desire as a church is to continue in the Apostles teaching and the fellowship, THE BREAKING OF BREAD and prayers, according to Acts 2:42. So don't neglect this, but rather come and do business with the Lord and be encouraged for all He has done for you through His glorious grace! We'll be singing songs tonight that focus our hearts on the glorious news of the gospel in preparation for communion so learn these songs and come ready to offer great praise to our Great God!

1) My Hope Is Built
6) There Is A Fountain (Communion Song)

Sunday Morning 10/30/11

Well I'm looking forward to being with the body of Christ again. We had an awesome Wednesday night looking at Nehemiah 8 and the revival that happened there as people cried out to Ezra "Bring Us the Book." May we we have a deepening desire for God's Word like that as well! Speaking of which, Pastor Jim will be continuing our study through 1 Peter as we pick up in chapter one verse eighteen continuing to look at the affect of our GREAT SALVATION in our lives! Don't miss out, come and worship with us as we sing songs and hymns that promote the greatness of God and His work in and through the gospel of Christ! There are a couple newer songs so make sure to click on and learn these so you can come prepared to sing and make a LOUD JOYFUL noise to our Lord!

Wednesday Night 10/26/11

I'm really looking forward to this Wednesday Night service! If you stop and think about it, it really is an amazing privilege that we can gather together as believers in the middle of the week to be encouraged and washed by the Word, and celebrate the gospel together. Often we are feeling pretty spiritually drained by the time Wednesday rolls around so why not come and be a part of the body of Christ. There is nothing like delighting in Christ like going and delighting in Christ through the outpouring of the local church! Pastor Jim will be taking us back through Nehemiah 8 and REVIVAL which we need so desperately bad in our individual hearts. This will be convicting, encouraging, and should lead us to desire revival so you won't want to miss out. Lord willing our hearts will be prepared as we sing these songs about the love, person, and work of Christ so familiarize yourself with them and come ready to worship our God!

6) Give Us Clean Hands
