Sunday Morning 12/4/11

Man it is crazy to think that we are already in the month of December! This year has flown by but the Lord is faithful and continues to be faithful to this church. I'm looking forward to worshipping with you on Sunday as we continue our study through 1Peter. This study has been an immense blessing to this congregation as we've been reminded of God's faithful love for us that though we have been rejected or may be rejected, we have been chosen in Christ for His pleasure and are given grace through the gospel, a grace that causes us to live out our love for the Savior! There is no better reason to worship the Lord than that so come join us on Sunday to worship the Lord through prayer, the proclamation of God's Word, and singing!

3) There Is A Fountain

4) Come Praise and Glorify

5) All To Us

6) Jesus Paid It All

Amen! Looking forward to worshiping our Great God and Savior with fellow believers! I too am loving going through 1st Peter! Wow! Very challenging, convicting, and encouraging! God's Word tells us that "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. 2Tim.3:16,17. That is exactly what 1 Peter has been for me. It has deepened my knowledge of truth, it has reproved and corrected me, and hopefully, as the Lord is continually sanctifing and refining me, I am reflecting my Father! I am so thankful for our Pastor who continually preaches the truth of God's Word unashamedly!
Ryan, thank you for your Christ-exalting leadership in corporate worship. What a blessing to come together with fellow believers offering up praise and thanksgiving to our Lord every Sunday morning! May the Lord continue to sustain you as you follow Him.

Our Desire

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly - teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Col. 3:16)

We take the Word of God extremely serious at CCR and recognize our spiritual call to worship in all areas of our lives ("Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship"-Romans 12:1) and here according to Col. 3:16 in the area of Music. It is our desire to see you the congregation create an atmosphere of worship that displays the greatness of our Holy God, making big of Him and little of ourselves through the obedience of attributing to God the Musical Worship that is due His Name.

What That Looks Like

“Worship songs should serve the church as take-home theology, reinforcing God glorifying doctrine and teaching through Christ-centered lyrics and memorable melodies.” – C.J. Mahaney

In order to cultivate that type of atmosphere there needs to be a clear understanding of the songs we sing and why we sing them. We need to come to grips with the reality of what is taking place during the "worship service." These are not just poetic lyrics with catchy melodies be they hymns or modern contemporary worship. Rather the songs we sing at CCR are an expression of our dire need for the salvific redemption provided through the Son of God at the hand of the Father, and an outpour of gratitude for the work that was done in our stead on the cross for the Glory of God primarily and the salvation of men!
