Join us tonight for our mid-week service and continued study through Job. As I've said before it has been an immense blessing seeing the hand of God played out in the life of Job, and certainly take home truths for us to glean from! 7:00 PM here at Calvary Chapel, come sing with us, pray with us, learn with us, and worship Christ with us!

Wednesday Night 9/26/12
Come out and worship with us tonight at Calvary! The book of Job continues to be an amazing study of God's Sovereign plan in the life of men. We can trust His Word and His promises no matter the circumstance or condition. "Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another..." Job 19:23-27. See you there!

Rejoice With Trembling
Psalm 2:11: "Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling." We rejoice all the time. We rejoice when our car gets fixed after being inoperable providing a means of transportation. We rejoice when our favorite ball team wins the world series. We rejoice over the birth of a baby boy or girl, or when we watch that baby boy or girl graduate and move on to marry the person they love. The point is that life is filled with opportunity to rejoice. Rejoicing with trembling is unique. We rejoice in all these things without trembling, so what is the difference here? The difference is the object of our rejoicing. Romans 8:37 is proof positive that we have victory in Christ and are more than conquerors in Christ because He has chosen to place His love upon us by His grace. This reality of this phenomenal truth is the ultimate means to our joy being fulfilled, and we rejoice in the hope of this supernatural transaction of the gospel. The reality of Christ and all that he is, and all that he has done, and all that he has yet to do, is a "trembling" reality! Why a Holy God loves unholy people when we stop and consider just how holy He is, is a "trembling reality." Psalm 119:120 says, "My flesh trembles for fear of You, I am afraid of Your judgments." We ought to tremble at the very thought of God and all that we rightly deserve from His hand, that in any given moment he could destroy our soul for rebelling against His Word; BUT HE DIDN'T! Instead He chose to love us and make a way for forgiveness, the redemption of sin, and we rejoice in that understanding. Not flippantly but trembling at the love, mercy, withheld wrath, and grace of God displayed in the gospel! "Rejoice with trembling."

Wednesday Night 9/19/12
Wow... It has been a bit since I've done one of these. It's pretty incredible how time gets away from you. Our schedules become so jam packed that it is easy to forget the small things. However, the small things can seemingly be some of the most meaningful parts of our schedule. Though there is not much to this blog other than reminding you about our upcoming service and letting you know what songs we will be singing, it is something I have truly enjoyed doing and hopefully something you have benefited from. I want to continue to share thoughts, ideals, and theology that the Lord continues to reveal to me regarding worship in hopes that it will bless and benefit you. Hopefully we can all continue to learn something about worship, music, the arts, and where that all works into the scope of the local church. Anyway, all that to say, Lord willing I'll be able to come back to this (though this hasn't been the first time I've been pulled away from it and I'm sure not the last) as often as I can! With that said, come out tonight and worship with us during our mid-week service. Pastor Jim has been taking us through the book of JOB! It truly has been an incredibly encouraging and convicting study. This study is giving us a fresh view into the person and work of God as played out in the life of Job and you don't want to miss it! Come worship with us tonight at 7 PM, you'll be blessed and glad you did! Click on the couple songs you may not be familiar with and come with a heart to sing to God:

Wednesday Night 3/14/12
Looking forward to worshipping tonight with all of you. Wednesday nights are such a sweet time of intimate worship and fellowship I know you'll be blessed to be a part of it, so come out tonight at 7:00 pm. Pastor Jim is back with us tonight continuing to show us the hand of God through the book of Esther and we'll be singing about our glorious redemption through Christ. I'm excited to do a new hymn tonight called "I sought the Lord." It may a bit obscure to you or unknown but nonetheless it speaks deeply about God's great love for us even before we existed! "He loved us first" is how some authors have summed up this old hymn and Lord willing that truth will be a refreshing blast of Sovereign Grace!
1) Beautiful One
2) All I Have Is Christ
3) Indescribable
4) I Sought the Lord (New)
5) 'Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus
6) Give Us Clean Hands
